Teacher is an Actor

In a book entitled by ‘Keajaiban Belajar’ written Mr. Yunsirno, states that teachers must be an actor in the class. A teacher should be a director and an actor who fascinates the audience of course. Therefore, if there are students who cannot master a lesson, that does not mean they are considered as a stupid kid, it is possibly because of the roles of the teachers who cannot build a fun atmosphere in the class. That’s why the explanation cannot be easily absorbed by the students or the teacher may have students who are mentally dropping in the class.
Maybe it was once perceived by some of you when you were a student. You ever felt so stupid in one subject under the guidance of a teacher A or felt foolish in a subject under the guidance of teacher B. But when you come up to the next grade and the teacher is replaced by a teacher C, you became very understand with his explanation even you could improve your score from 6 into 8 up to 10. There are also some of you who have been very lazy to follow a subject because the way how the teacher explains is very fast and he/she often gives impromptu questions to the students and makes the students embarrassed if they cannot answer. Thus, this condition indirectly makes the students feel uncomfortable to stay long in the class. There is also a teacher who likes telling about himself instead of teaching during the learning process or says some things that had nothing to do with the subjects being taught. All these things make the teaching and learning activities in the classroom are not effective. They can make students hate and consider the lesson is difficult, even they do not encourage the spirit of students’ learning.

Therefore, for you, especially the teachers, creating a fun atmosphere while teaching and learning activities in the classroom is important. Like giving a praise, an attractive gesture, do not just sit down when explaining, giving games that make students more understand with the material that have been given, knowing the whole character of the students in the class and pay attention to all students without exception. These things can build learning activities to be more effective, fun and definitely waited by the students. These can foster the spirit of students’ learning and they can break the belief of students that learning as something which is very boring and intimidating.
